Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, though Uganda's smallest national park at just 33.7 square kilometers, packs an absolutely incredible and diverse wildlife experience that belies its size. Part of the larger Virunga Conservation Area that spans across Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, this park represents a critical link in the conservation chain protecting mountain gorillas and other endangered species. The park is home to one habituated gorilla family, offering intimate and exclusive gorilla trekking experiences in a less crowded setting than some other locations. What truly sets Mgahinga apart is its dramatic volcanic landscape - the park's three extinct volcanoes, Mount Muhabura (4,127m), Mount Gahinga (3,474m), and Mount Sabyinyo (3,669m), create a stunning and majestic backdrop for all wildlife viewing and activities.
